Royce Da 5’9” Says a New Slaughterhouse Album Could Happen: ‘It’s a Work In Progress’

11Aug - by Betty Ducharme

It’s been five years since Slaughterhouse has released a new full-length album. Fans have been waiting for a follow-up project to their Welcome to: Our House LP but to no avail. However, there is a glimmer hope that the four horsemen will return to the studio.

Slaughterhouse member Royce Da 5’9″ appeared on Grass Routes podcast for an interview and revealed that an album could happen if everyone gets on the same page.

“It’s a work in progress,” he said. “Everybody just passionate about it…It’s never that we don’t get alone with each other…Sometimes, you may have one member that wants to do it sooner than another member, and that causes a little bit an issue, you know what I’m saying?”

“But that’s just passion. Passion for the creativity, and that’s a great thing. It’s a work in progress, and it will happen, it’s just about when,” he continued.

Earlier this year, fellow horseman Joe Budden said that Slaughterhouse have recorded an album, but it will never be released. “Breaking news. For all you people who keep wanting a music update, here it is: that Slaughterhouse project, you’re not getting it. Sorry,” he told his listeners on his eponymous podcast. “It’s some s— on there. Unfortunately, the best Joell verse that I have ever heard in my entire life is on this album that y’all are never gonna hear. That’s f—ed up.”

Hopefully, Royce, Budden, Kxng Crooked and Joell Ortiz will make some time this year to record a new studio project. C’mon, do it for the culture, fellas!
